Action Research: Crayon Physics Deluxe

Follow these steps for conducting your own action research about Crayon Physics Deluxe. Be sure to share your results at the end of your experience!

1. Give a PRETEST to see how much your child understands about physics BEFORE playing the game. Do NOT tell your child the correct answers. Ask child the pretest questions. Note how many correct responses your child provides (if doing a group, count total responses correct). Click here for the pretest.

2. DOWNLOAD the demo for Crayon Physics Deluxe.

3. Review the basic physic concepts of the game to gain an understanding of how it works. Assist your child as needed to begin.

4. TIME how long your child naturally engages with the game (in minutes).

5. Review the concepts reinforced in Crayon Physics Deluxe and Newton's laws of physics yourself as needed so you can help guide the child if asked!

6. Prompt your child to play at least 30 minutes total before giving the test again. Wait at least three days between the pre and post test.

7. Give your child the POSTTEST. Note total reponses correct.
